Fragrance is all about marketing. To me, a scent is a scent, but men worry about their identity and their sexuality to the extent that they seem to need constant reassurance that they are in fact male. This is why we have men’s hair dyes and men’s deodorants. I say use what you like regardless of its positioning. It doesn’t mean you’re in invisible drag. Keith Richards long used Jean Patou’s Joy in his armpits. I have, for years, used scents that may have been intended for ladies, including Fiori di Capri from Carthusia, Melograno (pomegranate) from Santa Maria Novella, and lately Jo Malone’s Lime, Basil & Mandarin cologne. On the other hand, I have never used Intoxication D’Amour, Poison, Obsession, or Dior Addict. I’ve got enough problems.
